Funeral Services for Mrs. Carrie Mae Solomon, will be held on Tuesday September 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Shiloh Baptist Church 122 Hooks Street Gordon. Interment will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery Gordon, Georgia. Pastor Kendrick K. Mack, Sr. will officiate.
Mrs. Carrie passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2016. She was born to the late Willie Solomon and late Bessie Solomon Gilliam on September 23, 1935.
She was a graduate of Sterling High School in Greenville SC and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. She was a dedicated educator in the Wilkinson County School system where she retired as a Librarian.
Her affiliations include Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., member of the Eastern Star and Chairperson of the Gordon Library.
She leaves to cherish her life with precious memories her brother Henry Lee Solomon of Taylors, SC; cousins, Lucille Jones of Newark, NJ; Rufus Jones of East Orange, NJ; nieces, Joyce “Vicki” (Timothy) Jones of Greenville, SC; Angela Stubbs of Fayetteville, NC; Tonya Leftridge (Terry) of Greer, SC; nephew, Michael Solomon of Taylors SC; stepson, Barry Gibson of Gordon, GA; special friends, Sandra Myrick and Barbara Towels; and a host of family members and friends.
Mrs. Carrie Solomon will be placed in the sanctuary of Shiloh Baptist Church one hour prior to service hour. Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel 142 Wriley Road has charge of arrangements.
