Carolyn Snead

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Carolyn M. Snead will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00AM. Location: Fountain Grove AME Church 2137 Asbell Road Irwinton, Georgia. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery. Rev. Sandra Simmons will serve as eulogist. 

Carolyn Stewart Snead, age 78, of McIntyre, Georgia passed away peacefully after an extended battle with cancer. She was born on November 3, 1946, to the late Richard McCrary and Annie Dixon McCrary in Macon, Georgia. She lived in Macon most of life before moving to McIntyre, Georgia to be with her husband of 30 years.

Carolyn was employed at the Medical Center of Georgia for 20 years. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Louis Snead. Carolyn was the proud mother of five children, Michael Dean (predeceased her), Trenise West (Kevin) of Norfolk, Virginia, Corey Mack of Seattle, Washington, Antonio Mack (Candra) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Natasha Love (Willie) of San Antonio, Texas. She leaves behind six beautiful grandchildren, Micha Williams, Nadeah Sullivan, Joshua West, Lydia Love, Shannon Love and Antonio (Alex) Mack and two great-grandchildren. She is the stepmother of five Cameron, Otarius, Terrell, Jareth, Raudia, and Shan. Carolyn also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She had an unwavering devotion to her family.

Carolyn was passionate about singing and helping others in her church and community. She was president of the Pastor’s Aide Committee, steward, and served nine years pro-tem under Presiding Elder Rev. Kimberly McMicheal and Rev. Sandra Simmons. Carolyn volunteered many hours to singing in the choir. Carolyn always had a heart for helping others and making sure that everyone that she encountered was left with a smile from her amazing sense of humor. She loved gardening and would spend many hours puttering around her yard tending to her plants and flowers. She will be missed greatly by all of those who experienced her warmth, kindness, and laughter. 

Public Viewing will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 11:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. 

Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel – Irwinton has charge of arrangements.
